Das Problem um die Empfangsstärke und Gesprächsabbrüche bei “falschem” Halten des iPhone wurde von der Technik-Website AnandTech nun genauer untersucht.

Es wurde die Signalstärke direkt am Gerät abgelesen und mit anderen Geräten verglichen. In dieser Tabelle die Kurzzusammenfassung der Erkenntnisse:

Die Techniker sind zum Schluss gekommen dass trotz dieser Messwerte die Empfangseigenschaften des iPhone 4 dem des iPhone 3GS überlegen sind. Ist der Empfang schwächer verhält sich das iPhone 4 stabiler als das iPhone 3GS. Die Sprachqualität ist trotz gemessenem, schlechteren Empfang besser.

Nicht weg zu diskutieren ist jedoch DASS das Problem der Überbrückung der beiden Antennen und die einhergehenden schlechteren Empfangseigenschaften existieren. Hier kann zwar mittels einem Software – Update die Anzeige anders skaliert werden – an den Werten selber ändert das jedoch nichts. Kommt es zum Gesprächsabbruch ist es in jedem Fall ärgerlich.

Ein Ansatz wäre die Antenne mit einer Art isolierenden Schutzschicht zu überziehen. Denn ich denke nicht jeder möchte sein iPhone 4 mit einem Bumper “verschönern”.

Vor genau 3 Jahren wurden die ersten iPhones erstmals verkauft.
Vor den Apple Stores bildeten sich lange Warteschlangen, und innerhalb der ersten 2 Tage wurden 270.000 Geräte verkauft.
