Wieder einmal hat Apple ein neues zugesprochen bekommen, welches sich auf einen der bereits vorhandenen Dienste des US-Unternehmens bezieht – gemeint ist dieses Mal der Sprachassistent . Schon mit iOS 7 hat ein neues Feature eingeführt, wonach eine automatische Sortierung des eigenen Fotoalbums erlaubt ist – je nachdem, wo das Bild gemacht wurde und natürlich wann. Bald ist dies mit Siri möglich.

Siri soll Fotos finden und sortieren dank neuem Patent

Wie AppleInsider berichtet, hat Apple ein neues Patent zugesprochen bekommen, welches es dem Nutzer mittels Siri erlauben soll, zu finden und zu sortieren. Das Patent nennt sich „Sprachbasierte Suche und Bilder-Tagging“ und definiert dabei die Art und Weise, wie sich Sprachbefehle in Text umgewandelt mit Bildern und Tags assoziieren lassen.

Moreover, because the natural-language processing is capable of inferring additional information, the tags may include additional information that the user did not explicitly say (such as the name of the person to which „me“ refers), and which creates a more complete and useful tag.

Once a photograph is tagged using the disclosed tagging techniques, other photographs that are similar may be automatically tagged with the same or similar information, thus obviating the need to tag every similar photograph individually. And when a user wishes to search among his photographs, he may simply speak a request: „show me photos of me at the beach.“

Mit diesem Patent scheint Apple auf die gestiegene Gewichtung von Fotografie mit Smartphones geantwortet zu haben. Aber auch die damit verbundene Notwendigkeit, Fotos sinnvoll zu sortieren, spielt hier eine große Rolle. Dabei ist man längst über Entstehungsdatum und Dateiname hinaus. Auch Tagging präsentiert sich hierbei als vielversprechende Option. Die persönliche Beschreibung wird dann durch Siri an das Bild angehangen.
