iPhone 3GS Unlock

Der sogenannte 24Kpwn-Exploit, welcher schon beim iPod touch 2G verwendet wurde, scheint beim iPhone 3GS immer noch zu funktionieren.

George Hotz in seinem Blog dazu:

„On a personal note, I’m sad. Apple, it took me a week to break through your new defenses. And to let us reuse an exploit like that; 24kpwn was so 5 months ago. Although I imagine it must have been painful watching the devices roll by on the assembly line, knowing they all had a hole in them and you couldn’t fix it.“

Das Katz-und-Maus-Spiel geht also in die nächste Runde. Die ersten Stolpersteine auf dem Weg zum Unlock des iPhone 3GS wurden also schon beiseite geschafft.

Der inoffizielle Name des iPhone 3GS Unlocks ist „purplera1n„, das DEV-Team arbeitet hier mit George Hotz zusammen.
