9to5Mac weist aber auch darauf hin, dass es Multitasking bereits im iPhone OS gibt – wenn auch auf Apple's eigene Apps (Safari, Mail, iPod, …) beschränkt. Die Dialogbox könnte sich daher auch einfach auf diese Apps beziehen. Trotzdem steigt die Hoffnung auf Multitasking für Dritt-Apps.

Gleichzeitig berichtet auch MacRumors von glaubwürdigen Quellen, die sich sicher sind, dass Firmware 4.0 Multitasking erlaubt:
