In den vergangenen Monaten gab es immer wieder , wonach Apple im kommenden Jahr ein iPad maxi veröffentlicht wird, welches mit 12.9 Zoll eine Art Hybrid zwischen MacBook und iPad werden soll. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo von KGI Securities untersucht derzeit allerdings andere Dinge, wie beispielsweise die sechste Generation des iPad. Diese soll eine rund 30 bis 40 Prozent höhere besitzen, als das aktuelle Modell.

Wie Analyst Kuo erklärt, der mit seinen Vermutungen übrigens bereits oft richtig gelegen hat, soll sich im kommenden Jahr eher auf ein 9.7 Zoll großes iPad 6 mit 30 bis 40 Prozent höherer Pixeldichte konzentrieren, als auf ein iPad maxi.

Contrary to speculation that next year's iPad next year may come in a 12” form, or larger, we think it will not change from the current 9.7” format as we think a 12” iPad would not provide a good mobility experience given today's technology limitations. 

In light [of] advancing Oxide and a-Si technologies, the PPI of iPad 6, which we expect to come out at end-2014, will exceed that of 2013's iPad 5 by 30-40%, which will offer more competent visuals.

Zudem vermutet er, dass Apple das zusammen mit dem iPad 6 auf den Markt bringen wird. Das iPad mini 2 erwartet er unterdes noch für diesen Monat, wobei unzählige Gerüchte das genaue Gegenteil prophezeien. Von auf iPad mini 3 soll es übrigens keine Auflösungs-Veränderungen geben.
