Steve Jobs: BluRay gleicht Mafia
Zum Thema BluRay hat Steve Jobs nicht viel gutes zu sagen: In einem kürzlichen Interview bedauerte er, das Apple überhaupt mit BluRay Discs in Verbindung gebracht wird:
He admitted that retrospectively he feels ashamed that Apple’s name is associated to Blu-ray, as he thinks that BD supporting associations look today more like Mafia than anything else.
Durch die hohen Lizenzgebühren sei es fast unmögilch, BluRay-Unterstützung zu bieten, meinte Jobs bereits 2008, als er BluRay als "Bag of Hurt" (Sack voller Schmerzen) für Entwickler bezeichnete:
Concerning authoring on Blu-ray, it seems impossible to provide software supporting such format for consumer market.
